Happy New Year and here is My list of 2012

1. I danced barefoot on Manly Beach in a crowd of thousands and felt so wild and free.
2. I got bitten by a red back spider on Valentines day.
3. Brave and True became my motto.
4. I did a massive graffiti painting in a Melbourne Laneway with a man who'd done it before.
5. I was taken to a pine forest by a magical family and picked wild mushrooms and blackberries and ate them on a BBQ with white wine.
6. I learnt how to drive a manual car and drove to Melbourne and back in my friend's van and as I drove into Sydney with my foot in the clutch, I felt like a grown up.
7. I danced in a jumpsuit in my friend's house to the best dance playlist I've ever experienced, twice.
8. I taught some people some new thing sin studios, in lecture theatres and in my shop. And I decided to be a teacher.
9. I read a book that touched my heart deep down. It was The Ghost's Child by Sonia Hartnett.
10. I drove 900 kilometers to see a man in the outback, fell in love with the red dirt of our country and drove 900 kilometers home.
11. I got my heart totally broken for the first time in my life and discovered life goes on.
12. I drank a lot of whiskey.
13. I learnt how to play Backgammon.
14. I listened to Radio National, everyday, and I felt smarter and more a part of this country.
15. I sewed thousands of clothes for my little shop in Sydney and then I closed its doors on Christmas Eve.
16. I heard music sung just for me.
17. My mother taught me how to make white sauce from scratch.
18. I dared to be different, again.
19. I laughed and cried at the same time and held my friends' hands.
20. My hair grew really long, I wore red lipstick and I felt like a woman.

[I write this list every year. It is to celebrate the year that has been and look and laugh at all that has happened. It is vulnerable and true. I think it is great to celebrate these things, acknowledge what has been to help me move forward in this crazy thing called life. If you read this blog and want to send me your list I'd love to read it. A few of my closest friends started doing this last year. I also write my ideal list for the new year. But I keep this to myself! But all except 1 came true last year!!! ]
