happenings

Getting inspired and creating a NEW printed Textile for Autumn Winter Spring. That's me drawing and then I get all technical and put it into the computer and get it ready to print onto meters of fabric.
Been dancing bare foot in the sand of Manly Beach.
Yes that will put a big smile on your face and those around you!

Kitchen By Mike and Koskela and Megan Morton's Space has opened in Roseberry.
85 Dunning Avenue, Roseberry.
It is an amazing space, and the quality of food, shopping and creating is top shelf. One person at the opening even said it "feels like New York"... well well well. I haven't been to NY yet but I reckon that is a mega compliment!
A slab of Tim's Honeycomb + a round of Roquefort + crisp breads you have to break = Heaven

Check out their online stuff, but just go.
Its something a bit different and totally beautiful.
I am going to be teaching some classes at The School later in the year so you will be hearing more.

Hope you have all been having fun. I have.

Interview with a customer

The first interview of 2012 is with Leila, a beautiful woman I have met through the shop and our love of velvet and well i fell in love with her cooking after she made a persian love cake for a friends Birthday! She is a caterer, business woman, chair collector, velvet adorer, mother and lover.

My name is Leila Knowles
At 6.30 am I am usually getting the kids ready for school or having a walk along the beach
As opposed to Friday night when I am either working (I am a caterer), having a quiet dinner at home with family and friends or watching something on the ABC at 8.30pm.
My secret passion is – beautiful interiors and buildings (not so secret really)
At the moment I am reading Autumn Laing by Alex Miller and 2 cook books I got for Christmas, Kylie Kwongs ‘It tastes better’ and Bali by Janet de Neefe
When I wear Beattie Lanser I feel very lucky to have a hand made unique and beautiful piece made from natural fabrics.
The last dance I had was probably around the lounge room with Ella and Eddie (my children)
When I am bored – I am never bored
I wish I was better at creative writing
Summer to me is swims at the beach followed by coffee, croissant and mango for breakfast with my loved ones and simple dinners in the garden.

as opposed to Winter which is - Weekend tea and toast in bed with my family, walk on the beach whatever the weather, rugging up and going to one of Sydney's craft or food markets

 Hotplates Catering.
Check out her beautiful work for your next party.

Menswear

I have been working on my menswear collection recently.
here are a few new snaps by local Photographer Liz Keene.
She is super talented and gorgeous.
I went to an exhibition of hers at Kit & Kaboodle this week and her work is truly beautiful.

There are new shirts, cravats and bows for the handsome gents in store.
More to come for Autumn Winter, see you soon.
