Shop announcement "Sale"

I am having a little sale in the shop.
20% off selected items.
Either I have no more of the fabric or getting too excited for my new colours and patterns for Autumn Winter 2011. Either way there are some goodies.
I will be updating my etsy shop this week, but if you are from interstate or overseas let me know if you want any prices and availability of sizes.
2 weeks only!
As all my pieces are hand made with love in beautiful natural fabrics and limited edition prints I do not plan on having sales regularly. I am thinking only once a year. So, there.
See you soon in the shop.

update on the shop typewriter

You see my grandfather used to be a typewriter man. Selling and repairing typewriters in the northern Beaches area of Sydney. This is the only one we have left in the family.
So over Christmas when my family was checking out my shop, my uncle, who is a long time tinkerer, took the typewriter away to get it working.
He said he had had success then cheekily sent me this letter last night.

"Ms Beattie Lanser
Perhaps you understand some of the problems I am having.
So you may appreciate
The plain fact is the carriage spring is broken.
W2
2. it is v tedious holding the carriage while typin
with right digit
3. aslo as you may notice we seem to miss the bottom
part of each key.
Where to nowK??a
Your esteemed servant"

It seems there are a couple of glitches...
will keep you posted!

sounds, series, sweat, swimwear and sequins

I went to my friend Jen's place last week and she gave me a bundle of goodies to take home.
Aren't we lucky to have friends!

13.1.11

bringing in the new year

two very modern gypsies set of seeking adventures on the far south coast

up before the birds, the farm welcomed us with perfect waves and sweet sweet pineapple

not to mention the vagabond and pirate we picked up along the way
after small town explorations involving bakeries, naps in parks and bric a brac stores we settled in a grove full of wild wild trees, surrounded by a freshwater lake and the salty salty sea.
inspired by the flower drum, we set to work, hunting and gathering, making wreaths for the ones we love
 and me
some enamel was picked up along the way (couldn't help myself!!)
street side veggies with honesty boxes
amazing waves and hot hot days
a tropical pash or two :)
 much wandering
VERY impressive fires in mysterious bays
 warm cups of tea
 explosions of joy
 and giggles galore

we stepped into the new year with grace in our hearts and flowers in our hair
I hope you did too.

Sailing in Sydney on Sunday

Yesterday was my one day off. I like to call it "Selfish Sunday"
I went sailing on our little boat called Cormorant.
It was heavenly
Our boat was full of chicks and the captain Max.
and a lot of orange painted toes!
Happy Monday everyone! I think a lot of you may be back at work today and I hope you enjoy seeing your fave work mates and getting your hands dirty in your work again.
listening to this makes me happy
and reading this is inspiring
Dreaming of going here

Shop Trading 2011

Shop Re-opened today - the first day for 2011.
Today is accounting day - YAY!
and definately in need of a tea break with the architects next door, Thanks to Penny for the Italian Sweet treat - Dolci. Bella bella!
And my succulent has put out its big berry coloured hairy flowers to welcome the new year.
They even match the outside of our my shop - that wasn't planned...
I love it when plants get involved in these moments in time, it makes me feel like we are all in this together! he he he.
I am picturing January to be a time of hard work but also tea and wine, when friends drop in to say hello.
So swing on by - there is Rose in the fridge and an enamel teapot waiting to be filled.
And i have a few new stories to tell as per usual!

ah this is the life!
Happy New year everyone! May your year be full of sunshine, surf, play and good sleep!
Gladys has got the right balance I reckon!
I can't wait to share with you our gypsy adventure down the south coast - it was magic!
